Principles, not protocols

MethodAtlas explains the physical principles behind common experimental methods — what a method measures and why it works — for educational and reference purposes. It intentionally does not provide step-by-step protocols, reagent lists, instrument settings, sample-preparation instructions, or any other procedural detail needed to actually run an experiment.

For specific procedures, use established textbooks, peer-reviewed methods papers, your instrument manufacturer's documentation, and your institution's standard operating procedures — not this site. Where we cite a reference, it is to credit the source, not to certify it as a complete or current procedure.
