Terms of Service
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using MethodAtlas ("the Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
The service
MethodAtlas is a free, static reference site explaining the physical principles behind common experimental methods — not a source of step-by-step laboratory protocols. It has no user accounts, no saved collections, and no backend — all content is served directly from static files.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Site, including attempting to disrupt it, scraping it at a disproportionate rate, or using it for any unlawful purpose.
Intellectual property
Original text, illustrations, and design on this Site are owned by MethodAtlas unless otherwise noted, and are made available for personal, non-commercial reference use. Cited external works remain the property of their respective authors and publishers.
No warranty
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. See the Disclaimer for details specific to scientific content.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MethodAtlas and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site.
This includes, without limitation, any injury, equipment damage, or other harm arising from performing an experimental operation or procedure — whether or not it was informed by Site content. The Site provides conceptual explanations, not procedures; see the Disclaimer.
Third-party links
The Site links to third-party publications and services (including citation sources and, for font delivery, Google Fonts). We aren't responsible for third-party content, availability, or practices.
Changes
We may update the Site or these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
